This was a collaboration with Red that I had initiated through a promotion with Catch A Star. Red mentioned that she really wanted to get some shots in her current rental before moving out. We set a date, organised hair and make-up and it was that easy.
As can be expected, best plans laid come undone and Red informed me that she had heard from our make-up artist who unfortunately couldn’t make it.
“But.. I think I can do it” Red tells me. I think anyone who have to agree that indeed she could do it and did a stunning job at that!
Miss Devotchkin’s house was a typical Queenslander probably built somewhere around the 60’s and it was perfect to utilise it in the context of pinup. It was this along with the fact that Red had made some amazing outfit choices that complimented the different tones of the interior which really made this shoot. Some of her own personal furnishings and accessories such as the sailor’s hat on the hat stand were the icing on the cake.
All images were lit with 2 x speedlites in soft boxes in conjunction with natural light and shot on a Canon 5D Mark II with the Canon EF17-40mm f/4L USM, EF50mm f/1.4 USM and the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II lenses. Post in Adobe Lightroom only.
